The first stage: manual renewal of the whole step (2 minutes)

If your server will expire in a few days, or you want to renew it for a few more years at a time to get a discount, manual renewal is the most direct way.

1. Single server renewal immediately

Log on to the Alibaba Cloud console and enter ECS in the search bar at the top to enter the ECS console.

In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances and Images-> Instances.

At the top of the page, select the region where the server is located (for example, China East 1 and China South 1).

Find the server that is about to expire, and click Renew directly under the expiration time field on the right side of the server.

Choose the length of time you need to renew (from 1 month to 3 years, usually there will be a better discount for the year of the package).

2. Batch renewal of multiple servers across regions

If you are in charge of several servers, scattered in different regions, one point in the past too inefficient. We can use Aliyun's "renewal management" middle desk:

Move the mouse to the top navigation bar of the console and click Renewal Management (or Resource Renewal) in the drop-down menu.

Do you want to receive a reminder message every month? Configuring automatic renewal is standard in the production environment. After activation, the Aliyun system will automatically help you complete the deduction and extension of services before the server expires.

1. Bottom-level deduction rules for automatic renewal (extremely important)

Many novices started automatic renewal but were still shut down because they did not understand Aliyun's deduction time difference. It is important to remember these three hard rules:

Deduction time: Aliyun's automatic renewal is not deducted on the day of expiration, but starts on the 9th day before the instance expires.

Cycle attempt: If the deduction fails on the 9th day before the expiration date (for example, there is no money in your account), the system will not give up. It will try to deduct once a day until the deduction is successful or until the server officially expires.

The next day

Limit: The automatic renewal function takes effect the next day after setting. If your server will expire tomorrow, it will not take effect to open automatic renewal today. You must renew it manually first!

2. Operation steps to turn on automatic renewal

Also go to Expenses-> Renewal Management at the top of the console.

Find the server you want to host and click Open Automatic Renewal in the Actions column.

In the displayed dialog box, set the automatic renewal period (that is, the automatic renewal period is several months each time, usually 1 month or 1 year).

Tip: If you don't want to use it later or plan to change servers, you can click to resume manual renewal (cancel automatic renewal) or choose not to renew it at any time under the "Automatic Renewal" tab (stop directly after expiration, and even call SMS will not bother you any more).

The third stage: binding automatic deduction channel (source water supply)

With automatic renewal, if Aliyun's account is always zero eggs, the system still cannot deduct money. The best solution is to bind a "secret-free payment" channel (such as Alipay) and let Aliyun transfer money directly from your bank card or Alipay balance.

The configuration path is as follows:

In the left navigation bar, find Fund Management-> Recharge and Withdrawal (or directly find payment channel management).

Aliyun native supports Alipay secret-free payment. Click to bind Alipay, and according to the prompt on the screen, use the mobile phone Alipay App to scan the code.

Check and agree to the Aliyun Secret Deduction Agreement on the mobile phone to confirm the binding.

However, if it is an official account number of an enterprise, it is strongly recommended not to directly bind the private Alipay of the boss or individual for secret deduction. On the left, click Basic Receive Management.

Find the expiration notice/arrears notice of the product, make sure that "SMS" and "mail" are checked, and the mobile phone number behind is the number you are currently using. If there are multiple operation and maintenance personnel, you can add multiple common contacts to receive together.
